This video will explain how to change a wait step within a workflow. Certain workflows will have wait times before the next step is triggered. For example, you may have an automatic confirmation SMS go to a lead that they have booked an appointment and you may then want a reminder SMS to be sent to them 24 hours later. You would then have a wait step between those two SMS messages that will wait 24 hours before sending the second SMS.
To update a wait time in a workflow, follow the below steps:
Navigate to automations on the left hand side menu. This will show you your workflows
Open the workflow and find the wait step you wish to edit
If you currently have people in this workflow at the wait step you wish to change, this is shown as a person icon with a tally next to them on the wait step. This means you have that specific number of people currently in that wait step and you will need to create a new wait step as outlined in steps 4-8. If you do not currently have people in this wait step, you can simply click on the existing wait step, update your wait time and save the workflow (if you do this, you do not need to follow the below steps)
Click on the + icon underneath the existing wait step. This will prompt you to add a new action
Search ‘wait’ and select the ‘wait’ action
Add in the wait time you wish to have at this step. You can also change this to minutes, hours or days and save the action
You now need to push all people currently in this original wait step to the new wait step. To do this, click on the person icon and then on the running man icon and click ‘move all’. This will then move all of those people at the existing wait step, to the next step in the workflow, which is now our new wait step we just created
Delete the original wait step you no longer need and save your workflow
